In June 2006, he opened Quadrantes Faro – Algarve Radiotherapy Unit, part of the Joaquim Chaves Group, where he began his duties as Director of the Unit. In February 2009, he opened Quadrantes – Funchal Radiotherapy Unit, part of the Joaquim Chaves Group, where he collaborates and helps to implement and develop the unit in close collaboration with SESaram.

Rui Nunes is a Physician, Vice-President of the National Academy of Medicine, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Porto (FMUP), and the first PhD in Bioethics in Portugal. He holds the Title of Aggregate in Medical Sociology and the Title of Aggregate in Bioethics.

He is Director of the Bioethics Center at FMUP https://upbioetica.org/ He is Director of the Doctoral Program in Bioethics and the Doctoral Program in Palliative Care. He is president of the Ethics Committee (FMUP), member of the Forensic Medical Council (Ministry of Justice), and member of the National Ethics Council for Life Sciences.

He is President of the Portuguese Bioethics Association. He was the first President of the Health Regulatory Authority, and was Director of the Porto School of Health Technologies. Tiago Salgado de Magalhães Taveira-Gomes is a physician and visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Fernando Pessoa University. He completed his degree in Health Sciences, an Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine and a PhD in Informatics and Medical Education at FMUP. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto with a special focus on the application of AI in the context of Primary Health Care, and is also a specialist in General and Family Medicine by the Portuguese Medical Association.

Having started his professional career in the NHS, always focused on the intersection between medicine, technology and innovation, he currently dedicates himself to academic and professional activity in business and international consortiums, having founded several companies focused on different aspects of Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence in Health. He is currently focused on the implementation of large-scale training initiatives for health professionals, particularly in observational research using electronic clinical records, among others.
